What we do

Industrial engineering for Southland's biggest plants.

Site fitting and maintenance is the core of what we do. Scheduled shutdowns and the urgent calls when something stops, week in week out, for dairy manufacturing, aluminium smelting, meat processing and the rest of Southland's heavy industry. We back that with machining, on-farm engineering and the general workshop jobs that round out the day.

Industries we serve

  • Dairy manufacturing
  • Meat processing
  • Aluminium smelting
  • MDF processing
  • Sawmills
  • Road transport

Group of companies

Aluminium fabrication is now South Fab Ltd

In April 2026 our aluminium fabrication division spun out as South Fab. Same team, same workshop, new brand. For toolboxes, dog boxes, canopies, flat decks, snorkels, laser cutting and general fab, head to the South Fab site.

About

100% Kiwi owned. Based in Invercargill.

Taylor Engineering is a Southland engineering workshop and contract services business. Our core focus is industrial site fitting and maintenance for the region's processing plants, smelter and other heavy industry. Machining (through our sister shop TurnTru) and specialist jet boat servicing sit alongside that work.

On-farm and general engineering keeps the workshop ticking between larger contracts. We run a mobile engineering crew with a self-contained truck for on-site work across Southland. Our aluminium fabrication division now operates as South Fab Ltd, run by the same crew under their own brand.
